The Group's credo: "We believe in the future of photovoltaics". The crisis-resistant group of companies has been living up to this affirmation for many years: with targeted investment, a global presence, reliable solar materials and flexible prices for its products. Thanks to new machines commissioned at the Kuppenheim facility in Germany, Krempel doubled its production capacity in 2009. The same goes for the facility's laminating and prefabricating capacities in 2010 and 2011.
"This meant that we were able to participate in the boom and, at the same time, create an infrastructure that is capable of expansion", said Klaus Bernhardt, Head of the Solar Materials Division at Krempel. In 2011, Krempel achieved the balancing act between the pressure of prices and the demand for high quality. It did so by expanding its product range, which now offers materials for all applications and needs at prices appropriate to the market.
At the same time, the company works with customers on development projects in order to improve the efficiency of solar modules and the relevant manufacturing processes. One result of this is AKACON BCF. Designed for solar cells with contacting on the rear side, this new PV backsheet is ready to go into production and will soon be available for delivery to customers. For the development of additional new products, Krempel strengthened its Kuppenheim development department in 2012.
To make sure that customers are reliably supplied with products and provided with relevant advice everywhere and in equal measure, Krempel has built up an international sales network and also opened new production facilities over a period of many years. The latest addition is the solar materials factory in the east of China. Customers throughout Asia are thus able to profit from the ability to order flexible quantities at short notice with considerably shorter delivery times and a constantly high product quality.
The one-hundred per cent Krempel subsidiary processes and prefabricates (by adding contactors and connectors etc.) quality materials made in Germany. "Our commitment follows our conviction; photovoltaics has a future", said Uwe Assmuth, one of the two Managing Directors of the Krempel-Group. "Now, it is more important than ever to make the right entrepreneurial decisions and for us to strengthen our customers' confidence in us all round the world. We are in a good position to do so; we have four business divisions, which mutually support each other and generate synergetic benefits, and each of them has solidly established itself in the market."
