The company used this year’s event to highlight a key market shift: for many commercial and industrial users, the conversation around storage is no longer centered on whether to invest, but on how to maximize the value of energy assets throughout their lifecycle.

Speaking at the launch event, SOFAR management noted that customer expectations have evolved significantly in recent years. As electricity costs, grid interaction requirements and operational resilience become increasingly important, storage is moving beyond its traditional role as a backup solution and becoming a core component of energy management strategies.

Europe remains one of SOFAR’s most important strategic markets. Against the backdrop of ongoing decarbonization efforts and increasing demand for flexible energy infrastructure, the company sees growing opportunities across residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications.

To address the increasingly diverse needs of businesses, SOFAR showcased a complete commercial and industrial energy storage portfolio covering a wide range of use cases and project scales.

At the entry level of the portfolio, PowerIn is designed for commercial and industrial users seeking simplified deployment and flexible operation. The solution supports the integration of PV, battery storage, grid connection, generators and loads, providing businesses with a practical pathway toward greater energy resilience and operational continuity.

For customers requiring more advanced energy management capabilities, SOFAR introduced PowerMagic 2.0. Designed for both grid-tied and micro-grid applications,

the system combines local energy management capabilities with intelligent battery management, liquid cooling and heating technologies, and remote monitoring functions. The platform supports multiple operating scenarios, including PV self-consumption, demand response, emergency backup, EV charging integration and energy arbitrage.

SOFAR also presented PowerMagic Cube, a containerized long-duration energy storage solution developed for larger commercial and industrial applications. Integrating storage cabinets and system-level controls into a modular architecture, the solution is designed to support larger capacity deployments while maintaining flexibility, safety and operational efficiency.

Beyond the commercial and industrial segment, the company showcased PowerEasy for residential applications and PowerMaster 2.0 for utility-scale energy storage projects.

PowerMaster 2.0 reflects another trend shaping the energy storage market: the increasing importance of system availability, operational flexibility and lifecycle value. The platform adopts a modular architecture that enables independent rack-level management and modular PCS deployment, helping maximize usable energy while reducing the impact of individual component failures. The solution also supports multiple duration configurations to address different utility-scale project requirements.

SOFAR highlighted a growing portfolio of utility-scale energy storage references associated with the PowerMaster platform, including projects across the Netherlands, Slovenia, Hungary and China. According to the company, the platform has already contributed to more than 200 MWh of deployed project capacity across more than eight countries.

“Customer needs are changing,” said David Zhong, Senior Vice President of SOFAR. “A few years ago, many businesses were asking whether energy storage was worth investing in. Today, they are asking how energy systems can create greater value, improve operational efficiency and strengthen resilience. Different customers face different challenges, which is why a diversified portfolio has become increasingly important.”

The company also emphasized that Europe will continue to play a central role in its long-term strategy.

The company was recognized as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer in 2026 and a Wood Mackenzie Grade A PV Inverter Manufacturer in 2025, while also receiving EUPD Top Brand PV recognition.

The launch at Intersolar Europe 2026 reflects SOFAR’s broader view of where the energy storage market is heading: from standalone backup systems toward integrated energy management platforms capable of supporting a wide range of customer objectives, from resilience and self-consumption to grid participation and long-term asset optimization.
