SolarNexus adds energy efficiency & solar hot water system modeling to software

Share

SolarNexus now enables users to add energy efficiency upgrades and solar hot water systems to SolarNexus Projects. The energy efficiency features allow users to specify the anticipated energy savings for proposed efficiency measures, and SolarNexus will incorporate the resulting energy cost savings into the project's financial analyses.

The new solar thermal system functionality allows contractors to model complete solar hot water systems, similar to how they can currently model PV systems in SolarNexus. Additionally, energy efficiency enhancements and solar thermal systems in SolarNexus can be combined with PV Systems, allowing cost estimates, modeling and quoting that takes into account all of the building’s improvements at the same time.

SolarNexus Vice President of Product Management, Michael Palmquist, commented on the importance of this release: “Extending SolarNexus to include energy efficiency and solar thermal systems gives our users a significant opportunity to differentiate themselves as true energy experts. SolarNexus gives users the ability to accurately demonstrate these benefits to their customers, and to win more sales.”

Combining even modest efficiency improvements with a PV system can produce relevant increases in ROI when compared to PV-only systems; and now, SolarNexus users can specify, analyze and quote the impacts of those projects. With this release, the SolarNexus business management solution enables users to manage their entire book of business for PV, solar thermal and efficiency-related jobs.

Leading solar contractors looking to improve their bottom line can easily itemize their hardware components and labor costs for this wide range of project types, calculate their projects’ financial benefits, and generate accurate quotes and contracts – all while streamlining their business operations to reduce their company’s overhead.
