STI Norland starts the supply and installation of solar equipment for El Romero, the largest Solar PV plant in Latin America, with 247 MW.

STI Norland will provide half of the equipment for this solar complex owned by Acciona.

The solar tracker and fixed structures Spanish manufacturer was chosen by Acciona, a world leader in the renewable energies field, to partlyundertake the 247 MW photovoltaic project (196 nominal MW) located in the III Region of Atacama.
The structure installation started earlier this month and the PV power plant is expected to be connected to the power grid by mid?2017, the date by which it will have become the biggest solar plant in Latin America and one of the main ten worldwide.
The project takes up around 280hc and is expected to generate around 500 GWh yearly, which corresponds to the energy provided to 245000 Chilean households, and will prevent over 470000 CO2 tones from being released into the atmosphere. The energy generated will be injected into the CIS (Central Interconnected System) for which Acciona was awarded with the tender for distributors.
Likewise, part of the energy will be devoted to providing the Google Data Processing Center in Chile with renewable energy. At this project STI Norland undertakes the design, the supply of 9.714 units of its STI?F5 fixed structures (Bipost), the foundations execution and the mechanical installation by incorporating 388560 JA Solar and Hareon PV modules.
This is the fifth project for STI Norland in Chile and the company counts on over 250?MWp accumulated experience, which makes it become the leading company in Chile in supplying fixed structures and solar trackers and consolidate its international expansion and position as one of the leading companies in the field worldwide.
