Suniva, Inc. today announced the completion of its first commissioning of a

large commercial PV system in Mexico.

Suniva, a metro-Atlanta based solar cell and module manufacturer, recently expanded its design and commissioning services to meet the demand of a

growing customer base.

The 500 kW system was designed, installed and commissioned on-site in Queretaro, Mexico under the supervision of Suniva in partnership with Radiance Solar and Grupo Metal Intra (GMI).

The PV system, Powered by Suniva, uses 1,632 Suniva OPT300 high-powered modules and an SMA Sunny Central inverter.

The power produced by the array will flow into the Mexican grid to power a substantial amount of the factory operations at a GMI manufacturing facility. The system started energy production last Friday.

The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. and their affiliate UPS Capital provided financing for the system and installation.

"Completing Suniva's first full system installation in Mexico from the design to the final grid connection has been a collaborative effort," said Sol Haroon, lead systems engineer for Suniva. "Working with GMI on installation of the racking and wiring and Radiance on design and grid interconnection, has been a great experience."

Suniva recently hired almost 100 employees in supervisory and line positions to meet its growing manufacturing and assembly requirements at its Norcross, GA headquarters.
