Sunna Group to build 1 GW of solar energy together with Aneo

Sunna Group, a Swedish developer of large-scale solar energy, enters into a partnership with Aneo, a nordic renewable energy company, with the aim of building solar parks in Sweden. With this collaboration, Sunna secures the conditions needed to reach their goal of 1 GW of solar energy production before 2030.

“Sunna’s ambition is to become a leading developer in large-scale solar power in Sweden,” says Marcus Qviberg, Sunna Group CEO. “In partnership with Aneo we get access to both the capital needed for the development and construction of our projects, as well as great experience from the team at Aneo from primarily wind and hydropower projects, which will bring a great contribution to the progress of our business.”

Sunna currently has eight ongoing solar park projects with a combined output of 250 MW. The first park is planned to be in operation during 2023. A solar park is estimated to produce electricity for at least 30-35 years and requires minimal maintenance, which means that the area both in and around the park can offer a beneficial habitat for plants, insects and wildlife.

“Solar parks have a lifespan of at least 30 years, and in addition to producing green electricity we can ensure biodiversity at our sites,” Marcus continues. “We are looking for more “bad” locations with land that can’t be used for agriculture or other useful purposes, and instead can become a long-term investment for sustainable energy. “
