Maryland has seen tremendous growth in its use of renewable energy sources over the past few years, and were excited to support that growth by bringing more green jobs to the state, said Ed Steins, east coast general manager at Sunrun. With this new office, we hope to enable more Marylanders in making the switch to solar and revolutionizing how they power their homes.

Maryland has pledged to expand clean energy use through the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard, which has already generated year-over-year growth of solar power and other clean resources. In 2014 alone, Maryland installed 40 megawatts of residential solar, powering more than 6,500 homes, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association. This represented a 60 percent increase in megawatts installed since 2013. The states solar industry also employs 3,000 residents.
As the first company to introduce solar as a service to American homeowners, Sunrun has reinvented the way people buy electricity. Sunrun gives homeowners access to the smartest energy source sunlight and takes care of everything so families can focus on more important things, like putting savings back in their pockets each month.
