Tenesol to highlight strength of Greek PV market at Ecotec 2012

Tenesol, which opened a subsidiary in Greece last year, experienced better than expected demand in 2011. In fact, early estimates show that around 400 MW of installed capacity was added across the country in 2011, far more than the predicted figure of between 250 and 300 MW. Interestingly, approximately 100 MW of this total was installed in the last two months of 2011.

“The PV market in Greece remains highly active, despite the economic gloom,” says Claude Escala, European director of Tenesol. “The last few months of 2011 saw demand reach record levels and we must now sustain this interest. The residential sector is also very promising with 70 MW installed in 2011. This confidence in PV investment is very encouraging for the future and highlights the great potential for solar power in Greece. The challenge now is to help those customers who wish to invest to actually secure the funding to invest. The team in Greece look forward to meeting with customers at Ecotec and discussing how Tenesol can help.”

Tenesol’s stand at Ecotec will include a selection of its latest innovations, including its popular residential and commercial PV kits. Based on a ‘flat-pack PV’ concept, each kit contains all the necessary materials and components to install a small-scale PV system. They can be tailored to suit specific needs and are popular among installation companies for their simple design and ease-of-use.

The kits bring with them Tenesol’s additional services, including its technical support, engineering know-how, financing options and marketing tools, to help customers get the most from its products.

In addition to supplying PV modules to installation companies and distributors from its production facility in Toulouse, France, Tenesol draws on its 28 years of experience to deliver bespoke PV solutions direct to customers. The company is currently working on a number of such projects throughout Europe.

Tenesol’s stand will be located in Hall 3, Stand ?9. A selection of company representatives will be on hand to meet with visitors and discuss the opportunities available in the Greek PV market and beyond.

Now in its fifth year, Ecotec is the largest exhibition of environmental technologies and PV systems in the Mediterranean region. This year’s show will take place between 15 and 18 March.
