The new site is located in Aspatria, Cumbria, covering 76 acres and will operate for at least 25 years. This site is predicted to provide enough electricity to power 4,283 local homes and will negate the emission of over 8,800 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Construction of the new site will commence shortly, increasing Equinox’s solar portfolio currently under construction to 84 MWp. This includes two sites in Northamptonshire, with an overall capacity of 27 MWp, two sites in Oxfordshire (24 MWp overall) and a 14 MWp site in Nottinghamshire.

The new acquisition is expected to qualify for 1.4 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) and revenues are expected from Q2 2015. All assets are anticipated to be connected before the ROC deadline of March 31, 2015.
