Ingeteam secures 555 MW Mexican order

Spanish-based supplier of power electronics and control units and electrical engineering, Ingeteam reports that it has strengthened its business base in Mexico. According to the statement, Ingeteam has secured orders for 555 MW of PV inverters for large scale solar farms and a smaller commercial & Industrial (C&I) sites in Mexico.

The new order increases Ingeteam’s total shipment of PV inverters to Mexico to 800 MW, the company reported today.

The 343 central photovoltaic inverters are supplied to four different plants in Baja California, Durango, Sonora and San Luis de Potosi. Ingeteam reports that it is currently supplying 2.5 GW of power electronics to wind and solar projects in Mexico, and will provide O&M services for an additional 2.5 GW.

Furthermore, Ingeteam will be supplying a range of equipment from its Skid series, including LV/MV transformers, MV cells, LV switchgear and the Ingecon Sun Powermax B series inverter for the four projects.

Additionally, Ingeteam said it recently commissioned two solar PV plants with a total capacity of 60 MW in the state of Chihuahua.

Just last week, Ingeteam reported that it was awarded a contract to supply power electronics to the largest PV plant in Latin America (754 MWdc), Villanueva located in the town of Viesca in the state of Coahuila, in northern Mexico, and owned by Enel Green Power Mexico. On the project, the company provided a turnkey solution for a digital interface allowing Mexican National Energy Center CENACE (Centro Nacional de Control de Energía) to monitor and control the site.
