US: Primex Farms and Cenergy Power break ground on 1.1 MW solar system

Share

Cenergy Power was selected to design and construct the system, which is expected to generate over 1.7 million kilowatt hours of clean solar power annually over available carports, roofs and ground space at the facility. This is equivalent to removing 1,283 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere or planting 274 acres of pine forest annually, says Primex.

"Being the first in our industry to recycle solid waste and water at our Wasco facility, the decision to go solar was a natural next step in our continuous endeavor to incorporate environmentally ‘green' concepts into our business," commented Ali Amin, CEO of Primex Farms. "We chose Cenergy Power based on their integrated engineering expertise and strong reputation among Central Valley growers for delivering superior project economics and excellent post-commissioning customer service."

As part of the solar arrangement, Cenergy Power will be providing 10 years of scheduled operations and maintenance work, including but not limited to touch-free panel cleanings, preventative maintenance and repair, and overall system warranties.
