The company's flexible and lightweight thin film silicon solar modules have received IEC 61646 and 61730 standards certifications from TÜV InterCert Group and this asserts that the modules fulfill the guidelines set forth by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for safety, quality and performance assurance.

Five of the company’s products with wattages up to 307 watts per module and use in systems up to 1000 Volts DC, have been approved. "This is major milestone in Xunlight’s efforts to become a world-leading producer of low-cost, highpowered flexible and lightweight solar modules," said Xunming Deng, Xunlight’s President and CEO.

The company has received over US$43 million of institutional investments from Emerald Technology Ventures, Trident Capital, NGP Energy Technology Partners, and Rabo Ventures. Xunlight has also received over US$13 million of research funding from the US Department of Energy, US Department of Commerce and Ohio Department of Development and US$14 million in loans from the State and local agencies to develop its products and manufacturing process.
