Abengoa plans 200 MW Californian PV plant

Spain-based Abengoa has undertaken a US$360 million contract to engineer and construct a 200 MW photovoltaic plant in California’s Imperial Valley.

The plant, scheduled to be constructed over a period of 18 months, is expected to come into operation “progressively” in the second half of 2013. Around 150 direct jobs are set to be created.
In a statement released last week, the company commented, “The plant, which will be constructed in Imperial Valley, south central California, will be one of the most important projects in the region. Abengoa has reached agreements with various local firms in order to promote the economic development of the region.”
No further details were released.
