Emmvee Energy starts 2.5 GW solar module production line in India

Indian manufacturer Emmvee Energy has commissioned a new 2.5 GW solar module line in the Indian state of Karnataka, lifting total capacity above 10 GW as it advances a broader manufacturing expansion.

Emmvee Energy aid it has started operations at a 2.5 GW solar module manufacturing line at its Unit VI facility in Sulibele, Hoskote Taluk, near Bengaluru in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.

The commissioning forms part of the capacity expansion outlined in the company’s initial public offering documents and was completed within the planned schedule. With the new line operational, Emmvee’s total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 10.3 GW.

For the first half of fiscal year 2026, Emmvee reported a year-on-year revenue increase of 193% to INR 21.59 billion ($240.9 million), while profit after tax rose nearly sevenfold compared with the same period a year earlier. The company attributed the growth to higher module shipment volumes and operating leverage from expanded manufacturing capacity.

Separately, Emmvee said construction has begun on a proposed 6 GW integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility at ITIR Phase 2 in Bengaluru. The company has received loan sanction approval of INR 33.06 billion from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) for the project.
