Waaree Power, a unit of India-based PV manufacturer Waaree Energy, has commenced commercial production on a new solar inverter manufacturing line with an annual capacity of 1.1 GW at its facility in Sarodhi, Valsad, Gujarat. The expansion takes Waaree Power’s total string inverter manufacturing capacity to 4.15 GW.

The capacity addition is part of Waaree’s broader strategy to build an integrated solar energy solutions business offering PV modules, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other components, while expanding its ability to serve utility-scale and distributed solar projects.

The company said its inverter manufacturing lines are designed to support different inverter technologies and provide scalability as market requirements evolve.

Waaree also plans to leverage its existing retail network to market inverters alongside its solar modules and other products, positioning the business as a “one-stop shop” for solar customers.

According to Waaree, the global solar inverter market was worth around $16 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 11% over the next decade.

The company estimates that the Indian solar inverter market was worth approximately $1 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow at around 6% annually over the same period.

Waaree sees energy security and data localization as key drivers for domestic inverter manufacturing. It also expects Indian manufacturers to have an opportunity to capture a larger share of the global inverter supply chain as buyers in the United States and Europe seek to diversify sourcing beyond China. India is emerging as a reliable alternative manufacturing base for US and European buyers, supported by its geopolitical stability and free-market framework.
