New materials in the frame

However, quality concerns, supply chain diversification, domestic content rules, and emissions reduction requirements have frame manufacturers eyeing alternative materials. And while aluminum isn’t going away, suppliers of steel and glass composite frames argue these materials come with various advantages.

Solar Group unveiled Fibro+, a simplified mounting system for PV modules on fiber-cement roofs, designed to reduce components and installation steps. The company claims the system can cut installation time by up to 30% and labor costs by up to 25%, while offering structural strength and a 12-year warranty.
Hinen launches 13.68 kWh residential energy storage system
Hinen’s A15 residential energy storage system combines 3.6 kW to 15 kW hybrid inverters with 14.4 kWh LFP battery modules, each offering 13.68 kWh of usable capacity. Up to six batteries can be connected in parallel for 86.4 kWh nominal and 82.08 kWh usable capacity, with more than 8,000 cycles, IP65 protection and a 12-year warranty.
MRCool releases inverter heat pump for recreational vehicles
MRCool has launched a rooftop air-source heat pump for recreational vehicles, featuring DC inverter technology and both ducted and ductless configurations. The 115 V system can operate in off-grid setups, including RV electrical systems supplied by PV and battery storage.

OCI adds 5,000 MT of polysilicon capacity in bid to become market leader
Following the construction of its P3 polysilicon plant, which has a production capacity of 10,000 metric tons (MT) and is due to be completed at the end of this year, OCI has said it is looking to further expand production by another 5,000 metric tons at its facility in Gunsan, Jeollabukdo, South Korea.

Drive to increase solar cell efficiency underway; results impressive
A team of University of Minnesota-led researchers has said it has cleared a major hurdle in the drive to build solar cells with potential efficiencies up to twice as high as current levels, which rarely exceed 30 percent. New solar cell designs are needed however.

Exclusive interview: Cuts in Spanish PV applications would signal "the end"
A 30 percent reduction for photovoltaics applications would signal “the end”, according to Javier Anta, president of the Spanish photovoltaics association (ASIF). In an interview with pv magazine, he also said that current plant owners would be ruined. Furthermore, he stated that between 600 and 1,000 megawatts (MW) in Spain are currently “with a leaglly uncertain status”.
