Van der Valk Solar Systems and BirdBlocker have joined hands to bring BirdBlocker to Europe. Birds actively build nests underneath PV-panels, which results in lower output of PV-panels, damage and noise issues. BirdBlocker is the easy-to-install solution that can help to prevent this.
Why do PV-panels have to be protected against birds? The output from the panels decreases when the natural ventilation beneath the panels is restricted by twigs and other nest material. The hotter the panels get, the lower the efficiency. There is even an increased risk of fire. The twigs the birds use may also cause scratches on the back sheet of the panel, which may result in earth leakage problems.
After installation of BirdBlocker, the chance of birds nesting under the PV-panels will be minimised and so there won’t be any sound pollution caused by the birds. The BirdBlocker system can be placed on the edges of most PV-panels and is practically invisible. When placed with a new PV-panels by the installer, it is the most effective.
According to Denis de Vette, Director of Van der Valk Solar Systems, the decision to add BirdBlocker to the product range is logical: “We are a one-stop shop for solar systems and everything around the mounting of PV-panels. By adding BirdBlocker to our product range, we can offer our customers a solution to protect the performance and longevity of their PV-panels.” The BirdBlocker is available through Van der Valk Solar Systems as of today.
Van der Valk Solar Systems is an established developer and producer of solar mounting systems with headquarters in Monster (the Netherlands) and an office and warehouse in Sandwich, Kent (UK).
