Kicking off the heterojunction era

In their never-ending search for solar technologies that can produce more energy at lower costs, solar manufacturers are moving forward with a wealth of different approaches in mass production. Among the more established of these is n-type heterojunction, which is the route chosen by China’s Risen Energy. In this pv magazine Webinar, we take a closer look at a heterojunction technology and some of the innovations behind Risen’s Hyper-ion module series, and how these create a long-term advantage, lowering costs by generating more energy over a project’s lifetime.

The solar industry has long known the potential of heterojunction technology to contribute to solar modules that last longer and produce more energy than those rolling off production lines today.

In 2023, solar cell and module manufacturers are looking to realize that potential at a massive scale. China’s Risen Energy, the partner of this pv magazine Webinar, is moving into gigawatt-scale production of its 700 W+ Hyper-ion module series, which promises a better temperature coefficient, lower performance degradation, strong bifacial performance and more, along with a lower carbon footprint compared to many others on the market.

In this hour-long program, Jerzy Rudnicki, senior product manager at Risen Energy, will take us through the ins and outs of this new module and some of its key features. We’ll take a closer look at Risen’s heterojunction cell technology and the production processes that make it work, and how this and the modules other advanced features, such as a steel frame, can deliver reliable high performance in solar generation.

We’ll also see examples of how Risen’s module can help to bring down project costs, and examine how the technology could develop even further in the near future. And as always, there will be plenty of time to address questions from the audience.
