About

Global solar supply chains are being reshaped by trade barriers, industrial policy, regional manufacturing strategies, and volatility in key raw materials. This pv magazine Webinar+ will provide a detailed market analysis of how geopolitical developments are creating regional pricing disparities across the photovoltaic value chain, from polysilicon to modules and critical materials such as soda ash, EVA, and POE.
Industry experts will examine the evolving competitive landscape, compare policy approaches across major solar markets, and discuss how manufacturers, developers, and procurement teams can navigate growing supply chain complexity.
Program
The webinar will explore how geopolitical developments, industrial policy, and raw material volatility are reshaping global PV supply chains and creating regional pricing disparities across the solar manufacturing landscape. The first session on polysilicon market dynamics will examine how overcapacity and trade barriers are driving a widening price spread between Chinese domestic and non-Chinese polysilicon markets, while also assessing prospects for non-Chinese production, emerging export destinations, and the implications for module manufacturing competitiveness and sourcing strategies. Discussions will also cover regional market segmentation, tariffs, anti-dumping measures, and the long-term outlook for global polysilicon supply.
The second session will focus on wafers and cells, analyzing how countries seeking to establish domestic solar supply chains are managing uneven manufacturing capacities across different components. Speakers will compare policy approaches in the United States, Europe, and India, while exploring investment trends in upstream and downstream manufacturing. The session will also address gaps in wafer and cell capacity outside China, localization requirements, and the balance between supply chain resilience and cost competitiveness.
The module manufacturing session will examine the impact of trade and domestic policies on manufacturing capacity expansion in Asia, Europe, and the United States, alongside an analysis of regional module price spreads and the rise of new manufacturing hubs. Additional discussion points will include domestic content requirements, subsidy programs, regional supply-demand dynamics, and procurement considerations for developers and EPCs.
Attention will also turn to the soda ash market, with experts discussing how energy price volatility and trade risks are affecting supply, pricing, and solar glass production costs. The session will assess regional production trends, logistics challenges, and the broader outlook for market availability and pricing.
The webinar will conclude with a session on EVA and POE encapsulant markets, exploring how oil-linked feedstock volatility is influencing encapsulant costs, as well as the outlook for EVA and supply trends for POE materials. Discussions will address the impact of geopolitical events on the polyolefins market, EVA supply security and capacity growth, and demand trends in the EVA and POE markets.
An expert panel discussion and live audience Q&A will bring together speakers to debate which regions are best positioned to build resilient PV supply chains, how long regional price spreads are likely to persist, whether industrial policy will outweigh manufacturing economics, and what strategies companies can adopt to manage procurement and supply chain risks.
