Megasol equips its solar panels with anti-glare surface

Since the launch of Level Up modules series in November 2025, shortly after the introduction of ZRM+ in the M450 roof module line, Swiss PV manufacturer Megasol has received numerous customer requests to make anti-glare technology a standard feature of its roof modules.

Glare-free operation is particularly important for projects in densely populated residential areas or near transport routes, as well as for installations requiring permits in sensitive zones.

Megasol has responded by making ZRM+ technology standard rather than an optional feature. All Level Up modules will now be supplied exclusively with an anti-glare surface.

Proven effectiveness

Zero Reflect Matt+ (ZRM+) is a microstructured glass surface developed by Megasol that is designed to minimize disruptive glare. While conventional solar glass can produce strong reflections at unfavorable angles of incidence, the luminance of ZRM+ remains between 3,000 and 18,000 cd/m² at steep angles of incidence, according to Megasol. The company says this is comparable to the luminance of clay roof tiles. At an angle of incidence of 70°, luminance is approximately 29,000 cd/m², according to the manufacturer.

The effectiveness of ZRM+ has also been independently assessed. A glare report from the Bern University of Applied Sciences found luminance levels below the stated legal limit of 20,000 cd/m² across the tested angles of solar incidence, according to Megasol. The company therefore says the ZRM+ surface keeps glare outside the critical range regardless of the sun’s position.

Megasol said Level Up module is the first fully integrated solar roofing system to offer this anti-glare performance as a standard feature across the entire system, including the mounting system, rails and accessories.

The ZRM+ surface gives Level Up modules a deep matte finish, with the glass featuring a uniform, velvety appearance. According to Megasol, the system combines this aesthetic quality with frameless glass-glass modules, an efficiency of more than 200 Wp/m², hail resistance to Class 5 and rain tightness in accordance with CEN/TR 15601.
