Oman seeks consultants for renewable energy feasibility study

A tender in Oman is searching for a techno-economic consultant to complete a feasibility study on renewable energy projects in the governorate of Musandam. The deadline for applications is September 24.

Oman’s Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) has kicked off a consultancy tender for a feasibility study in the northern governorate of Musandam.

Available tender details state the chosen techno-economic consultant will assess the feasibility of renewable energy generation in Musandam including solar PV, wind and hybrid configurations, as well as battery energy storage systems where technically and economically justified.

Tender documents are available to purchase in electronic format until September 3 for a fee of OMR 500 ($1,300). The fee is waived for small and medium-sized enterprises with a valid Riyada card.

The deadline for applications is September 24.

The latest tender follows a search for consultants to support the development of a 300 MW solar project in June. The same month, PWP tendered 1.5 GW of solar across two prospective projects.

Last month, it was announced Oman plans to build an integrated solar cell and module facility with an annual capacity of 6 GW.
