At the three day event, pv magazine took in a national solar industry that has reached enormous proportions, and continues to grow with huge investments still going into building new solar installations, upgrading grids and adding, and ramping up a localized supply chain for many of the components these projects rely on.

Italy deploys 4.83 GW of PV in January-September
Italy connected 4.83 GW of new solar capacity in the first nine months of 2026, bringing cumulative installed capacity to 48.35 GW at the end of September. Utility-scale projects accounted for 46% of new additions, while the country’s cumulative battery storage capacity approached 20 GWh, according to new statistics from Italia Solare.

Pricing India’s storage demand gap
India tendered more battery storage in 2025 than in the previous three years combined. Winning bids for these projects have fallen roughly 86% since the country’s first standalone energy storage auction in 2022. On the surface, this reads like a market maturing exactly on schedule.
