Researchers model 1,708 pathways for global PV waste recycling
New research finds that optimized, outsourced PV recycling could cut up to 3.32 billion metric tons of CO2 equivalent and generate as much as $935.5 billion in net benefits by 2060. The researchers say declining subsidies could help distribute these benefits more evenly across regions while supporting recycling until it becomes economically viable.
Chinese scientists achieve record-breaking 24.0% efficieny for large-area perovskite solar modules
Researchers achieved a certified 24.0% efficiency on an 810 cm² perovskite module and 22.0% on a 0.72 m² module by combining high-saturated-vapor-pressure (SVP) processing with lead carboxylate passivation.
The approach also delivered strong durability, with modules retaining 96% of their initial efficiency after 2,200 hours of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and meeting International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61215 reliability requirements.
