qcells_award_logo_998555b20fOur four nominees for the Installation Innovation Award presented their fresh ideas and projects in short pitches at Intersolar Europe. Now is the time to assess these pitches, have your say, and maybe become one of the five lucky winners of an iPhone 6. The voting is open untill July 8.

The “Installation Innovation Award – Europe” is awarded by pv magazine and Hanwha Q CELLS. We are looking for the most innovative European installers and consultants with the most inventive projects and ideas that help shape the photovoltaic future. The winner is awarded a trip to Korea.

Candidate 1 and winner of the public vote: maxx-solar & energy GmbH & Co. KG

Innovative financing solutions for PV in Africa. As a European company, maxx-solar & energie is making photovoltaics in Africa more competitive by renting out PV systems were financing is not available. With their first PV system now on the roof, the Dominican Grimley School now enjoys lower energy costs and can invest their savings into their pupils.

Candidate 2: Bjark Ingels Group

Living Tomorrow in Sweden. Created by the Danish company BIG, a floating neighbourhood will be set up in the Gothenburg harbour (Sweden) providing up to 432 student apartments. All apartments will be interconnected and will cover a large part of their energy demand by photovoltaics.

Candidate 3: Solartechnik Mitteldeutschland

Innovative PV and CHP project for tenanted apartment buildings. The installation company combines a tenant current project, an environmentally friendly pellet heating and pellet-CHP system, PV backup heating and a smart meter network with the possibility for transparent online real-time measurement using a browser or smartphone app – all in one complete energy concept.

Candidate 4: Intellisol

Perfectly planned for Mercedes in Belgium. The company has an installation in operation at a newly built Mercedes Car Dealership in Belgium, planned and projected to achieve the highest benefit for the customer and fulfil their needs – not just to maximize the power on the roof.
