“Our current setup, our capability to execute and our good track record in Germany and abroad allow us to meet investors’ requirements” explains Roland Wigger, CEO of abakus solar AG. “The large scale projects that we are currently installing together with a joint venture partner in the United Kingdom demonstrate that we can do both matching the expectations of financial investors and constructing high quality photovoltaic power plants based on our reputable abakus engineering approach” says Wigger.

Despite the fact that abakus is one of Germanys photovoltaic pioneers having realised a lot of its projects in Germany the company has been concentrating its activities abroad since the end of the solar boom in Germany. Hence the company has successfully realised projects in the UK and Portugal. Currently projects totalling to approximately 56 MWp are under construction in a joint venture with Bouygues Energies & Services. abakus solar is responsible for the engineering and the design of the solar power plants and is also leading on the qualification process of the main photovoltaic components and commissioning of the plants while Bouygues Energies & Services is responsible for the execution and instalment of the solar parks.

The envisaged key conditions of the auction process in Germany allow abakus to engage for large scale projects in Germany again.

“With our current setup we are well prepared for the large scale solar market in Germany and the requirements of institutional investors” explains Roland Wigger. “We hope that the German solar market gets boosted next year and numerous projects are going to be realized. However we are ready to execute and will deliver” says Wigger.
