Power-One presents new inverters at Intersolar

Share

The world’s largest exhibition for the solar industry will take place in Munich, Germany, from June 13 to 15. At the show, Power-One will introduce two inverters: the second, improved generation of Power-One’s AURORA MICRO-0.25 and AURORA MICRO-0.3 micro-inverters and the modular AURORA PVI-400.0-TL central inverter.

In addition, Power-One will also exhibit the new AURORA CDD, a monitoring device which allows connecting Power-One’s micro-inverters and power optimizers to the Internet quickly and easily.

“With our new products, we are offering our customers a number of improvements and new benefits, both technical and practical,” said Dr. Alex Levran, President of Renewable Energy Solutions at Power-One. “While residential plant owners will benefit from the new, improved micro-inverters and the AURORA CDD monitoring solution, the new AURORA PVI-400.0-TL central inverter combines maximum power with a minimum footprint to ensure an optimized energy harvest for commercial operators. These new solutions are a perfect addition to our broad range of inverter products which offers the perfect sized AURORA inverter for PV installations of all sizes.”

AURORA MICRO-0.25 and AURORA MICRO-0.3

Power-One’s second generation of micro-inverters, the improved AURORA MICRO-0.25-I and AURORA MICRO-0.3-I with an output of 250W and 300W respectively, benefits from the company’s experience gained during the last twelve months of designing and testing. Key improvements include a broader DC input voltage range, an extended MPP DC voltage range as well as best-in-class efficiency ratings of up to 96.5 percent. Moreover, a rugged outdoor enclosure, an HF isolation and electrolyte-free capacitors allow for unrestricted use under any environmental conditions and further increase the product lifetime and long term reliability.

Offering an alternative to traditional string inverters, both devices optimize the power curve for each individual panel, thereby minimizing efficiency losses in challenging conditions like partial or temporary shading or panel mismatching. Moreover, the units ensure system expandability at panel level without the hassle of string re-sizing or panel matching. Power-One’s micro-inverters can be linked to the internet with the AURORA CDD.

AURORA CDD

With the monitoring device AURORA CDD, Power-One enables plant operators and installers to connect PV Systems using Power-One’s AURORA MICRO micro-inverters or AURORA OPTI power optimizers to the internet in a simple and quick way. Using wireless communication technology, the AURORA CDD monitors each micro-inverter or optimizer without any additional wiring and allows for real time performance monitoring and rapid failure detection via the company’s web-based monitoring portal. Up to 30 micro-inverters can be directly monitored by a single AURORA CDD.

AURORA PVI-400.0-TL

The AURORA PVI-400.0-TL is an evolution of Power-One’s previous central inverters which offers maximum power on a minimum footprint. Based on extractable 67kW modules, the inverter system is extremely scalable and makes maintenance activities easy. Each inverter module can be configured in multi-master for up to six independent MPPT or in master slave with a single MPPT. This improves the energy harvest in case of module failure and reduces losses due to mismatching phenomena. The new AURORA PVI-400.0-TL reaches 98 percent of peak efficiency and fulfills all the necessary EU requirements for safety and grid such as BDEW.
