skytron energy has a new Managing Director: Jörgen Klammer has taken over as head of the Berlin-based technology company in December 2014. He will succeed Stefan Degener, who assumed management of skytron energy in July, when it was acquired by First Solar, and who has now moved to the companys advisory board.
Jörgen Klammer most recently served as CTO of BEC Solar GmbH; he has extensive experience in technical consulting, analysis and optimization of solar power plants. For nearly 15 years eight of them at First Solar Klammer has been researching and working on new concepts for the further development of photovoltaics with a focus on large-plant applications as one of the central pillars of renewable energy production.

Since July of this year, skytron energy has operated under its own brand as a subsidiary of First Solar. The company has thereby benefitted from both First Solars global presence in the large-scale PV power plant market and the knowhow it has gleaned from installing 9 GWp of PV capacity worldwide. First Solar, in turn, has expanded its range of solutions for PV power plants to include the important components of monitoring, control and plant supervision indispensable factors in the long-term successful and economical operation of plants.
The acquisition has opened a wealth of opportunities for sustainable growth for both companies, allowing them to continue to offer innovative and reliable solutions to owners and operators of photovoltaic power plants.
