Technical Support Director/Manager EMEA, GoodWe

The company

GoodWe Power Supply Technology is a globally leading inverter manufacturer with offices and services around the globe.

The headquarters is based in Suzhou China and the R&D department and manufacturing facilities are based there. GoodWe has a significant R&D team to design and manufacture state-of-the art string inverters for the international markets.

The German subsidiary is based in Munich. From our local headquarters in Munich, GoodWe Europe GmbH will address and cover several strategic markets within the EMEA region including Germany and Mediterranean countries.

In order to build a strong technical support structure we are looking for an experienced

Technical Support Director/Manager for Pre- and After-Sales Services

The position will be based in Munich.

Major responsibilities:

• Define a service strategy and plan in close collaboration with Sales, GmbH management and headquarters to put the company from a technical and service perspective in an excellent position to become a significant player in defined markets
• Build up of a European service structure including first and second level support including service partners and internal technical colleagues
• Collaborate with sales team to plan and completetechnical exchange with international customers, train clients and set forth detailed technical solutions etc.
• Define a structured overall and modular training concept.
• Plan and control service costs
• Evaluate service resources
• Prepare presentation documents, technical explanation and other related files including bidding documents
• Analyze legal technical requirements and certifications for defined countries and drive execution of agreed and required certificates
• Monitor market environment and provide competitive information to EMEA team and HQ
• Analyze product roadmap and features and work closely with EMEA management and HQ Marketing/Service Team to enable a product roadmap that will be highly competitive in the defined region
• Partner with sales team, visit clients and project sites, support system planning and give guidance for PV system installations
• Coordinate with sales team to organize training sessions, attend exhibitions
• Define, implement, train and monitor 1. Level support function for defined countries
• Give 2. level technical support

Required experience and competence:

• A technical degree (bachelor/master) from University or Hochschule, preferably in Electrical Engineering or similar
• A minimum of 8 years work experience in a technical environment, preferably in the renewable industry
• A minimum of 3 years professional experience in working with inverter technologies, e.g. R&D, service, pre- and post-sales, preferably for string inverters
• Experience with distributed PV systems or ground power station would be a plus
• First Management experience in a technical team, preferably working with remote international teams
• Flexibility for working in highly fluctuating and demanding markets
• International mindset for a multi-cultural environment
• Experience with Chinese culture a strong plus
• Fluent German and English
• Willingness for international and national travel
