The solar park has been designed and constructed by Anesco, who will be providing ongoing operations and maintenance services to ensure the installation continues to operate at its optimum efficiency. The solar park, which comprises 18,500 solar panels, has benefited from an advanced biodiversity plan that has seen the creation of habitats for local wildlife and at-risk species.
Energy generated by the solar park will provide around 9% of the terminal’s electricity needs and will also supply energy to neighbouring businesses. It will reduce Dragon’s Scope 2 CO2 emissions by around 2,500 tonnes per year.
