The partnership combines Aurora's Veritas and Decima with SEMCO's LYDOP and LYTOX ultra-high capacity horizontal diffusion and annealing furnaces. The benefit of this offering will be a simplified capability for manufacturers to observe, control and optimize key parameters in cell fabrication for high yield and reduced product binning costs. These outcomes are critical for profitability in the highly competitive solar cell manufacturing industry.
As part of the partnership, Aurora's Decima and Veritas products will be installed and used for cell fabrication and customer demonstrations in SEMCO's IrySolar photovoltaic fabrication facility and laboratory.
"SEMCO provides high-throughput emitter diffusion and annealing furnaces to quality discerning cell producers worldwide, and we continue to achieve new growth milestones in installations and advancements in technology. The SEMCO-Aurora partnership has resulted in orders for six Aurora measurement and control systems to date, and we anticipate many more as the market demand for production of the highest quality and efficient solar cells continues to develop," said Claude Giral, SEMCO's PV Product Director.
"We are very pleased to have entered into this relationship with SEMCO, who has consistently been in the forefront of advanced technology in production equipment for high quality solar cell manufacturing. We anticipate accelerated business growth through this strategic business relationship with SEMCO," said Greg Ayres, Aurora's Chief Operating Officer.
