Bisol photovoltaic modules now with salt mist corrosion certificate

Share

Salty air in coastal areas can reduce the performance of PV modules. BISOL Group, one of the leading European producers of PV modules, has proven the high quality of its PV modules by submitting them for the salt mist corrosion test.

The test was performed by the Austrian Institute of Technology, who simulated real-world conditions and subjected modules to high concentrations of salt mist, high temperatures and humidity. After exposure to salt water mist, modules were inspected for degradation, power loss or corrosion around holes, screw connections and electrical connections.

The test results show that Bisol modules exhibit less than one percent decrease in electrical performance and retain their mechanical and insulation properties, thus ensuring high energy yields for PV plants located in coastal areas or areas with higher salt mist concentrations. Several other rigorous tests previously carried out confirm Bisol PV modules can sustain other harsh weather conditions, such as heavy rain, hail storms, snow storms, strong winds, intense heat and high humidity. Therefore making them appropriate for almost every climate area.
