The Low Carbon Research Institute (LCRI) was set up with funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, to support the energy sector in Wales and the UK, to develop low carbon generation, storage, distribution and end use technologies.

SPARC is part of the LCRI Convergence Energy Programme, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. The event is targeted at raising awareness of the significant potential for Solar PV, despite reductions in the Feed In Tariff (FIT).

The challenges to maintaining the market will be raised and discussed. The aim of this seminar is to bring together people from across the PV supply chain, who can share their experiences and expectations for the future of the PV industry in Wales.

Professor Stuart Irvine, Project Lead for SPARC, said “This event will showcase some of the excellent research being carried out by the SPARC team and enable Welsh industry to engage with the SPARC project to get a competitive edge in this rapidly changing market.”
