Change in leadership at pv magazine

Jonathan Gifford is an experienced journalist who has worked as an editor for pv magazine for three years. Previously, he worked over six years for public service radio stations, covering environmental and technology themes for, among others, the Australian ABC, the BBC and the Deutsche Welle. He has also written about renewable energy and cleantech for websites including GigaOm and RenewEconomy.

"I'm excited to be taking on this new role at a truly prestigious publication within the PV industry. With markets like China and U.S. realizing their impressive potential and solar becoming a truly worldwide endeavor, there is no better time to be in PV," said Jonathan Gifford.

The outgoing editor-in-chief editor, Hans Christoph Neidlein, is leaving pv magazine at his own request. "I want to devote myself to new professional challenges and wish pv magazine and Jonathan Gifford continued success," he said. He will continue to be available as a senior adviser to the new team for a transitional period.

The pv magazine print editions and associated online news portals are published by Solarpraxis AG and have developed, over the last six years, into the leading trade media of the global PV industry. The international edition is aimed at decision-makers across the entire value chain and reaches mechanical engineering, manufacturers, component suppliers, the EPC contractors, planners, engineers, operators and investors. The authors analyze markets and technologies. Other language versions of pv magazine are aimed directly at decision-makers in China, Latin America, Japan and Germany.

"I would like to thank Hans-Christoph Neidlein for helping to successfully establish pv magazine in recent years and the good teamwork and wish him all the best in his new endeavors," said Karl-Heinz Remmers, CEO of Solarpraxis AG. "I'm glad to have found a very good successor to Hans-Christoph Neidlein in Jonathan Gifford," Remmers continued. "The next few years will change the solar industry dramatically and pv magazine will actively follow these changes."
