DEGER introduces new single axis DEGERtracker S70

Share

Based on the first model of the “S” series DEGERtracker, the enhanced version S70 concrete foundation (CF) and S70 steel foundation (SF) has been developed especially for the needs of the Canadian market.

With the average advantage of more than 25 percent higher yield compared to static ground mount systems, it’s sure to impress project developers and investors alike.

S70-CF

DEGERtracker S70-CF/SF is designed for up to 30 standard 60-cell modules or 24 modules with 72 cells. The S70-CF/SF utilizes the patented MLD* technology to align each array automatically with the point in the sky that provides the greatest energy.

Horizontal axis rotation angle is 90° (+/- 45°). With only 15 kWh power consumption per year the DEGERtracker S70 offers strikingly low consumption values.

It has been statically designed and approved to meet stringent specifications for the Canadian market with a wind pressure of up to 0.85 kN/m2 with a maximum module surface of 53 square meters.

S70-SF

Specialties of the new S70 model are the EC-S energy converter with the sensor based control unit and a maintenance-free high-quality linear drive with heavy-duty aluminum housing for harsh conditions, which complies to IP66 and can be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner according to IP69K-static. Like all of DEGER´s tracking systems, the control unit and wind sensor will move the module surface automatically to a secure, horizontal position once the wind speed reaches 12 meters or more per second.

A snow sensor will cause the module surface to travel to the 45° position when a snow event occurs. Since 45° is not steep enough to result in a design snow load of zero, a snow load calculated in accordance with the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) will be applied to the array.

DEGER delivers its base model S60H with three types of installation mounting styles:

– DEGER Steel Foundations (allows a simple installation of the system by excavating and subsequently backfilling earth).

– Driven Pile foundations.

– Concrete foundations (supports both open land installation and building integration of the new model).

The enhanced DEGERtracker S70-CF/SF for concrete and steel foundations offers a 15 percent larger module surface than the standard model S60H, and therefore a better price/performance ratio. A further version of the S70 for driven pile foundations has also been developed, and is already approved and available in countries like Turkey and South Africa.

DEGER delivers the system control units fully preassembled and pre-cabled. Combined with an efficient and simple frame design, this significantly reduces the time required for installation. You can now install a S70 within less than one hour. Furthermore, DEGER´s MLD technology, based on the patented light sensor, guarantees an average yield increase of more than 25 percent compared to fixed module photovoltaic systems.

The DEGERtracker S70-CF/SF is available for purchase in Canada starting from 1st January 2016. DEGER exhibits at CanSIA's Solar Canada 2015 from December 7 to December 8, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario.
