Introductions of a new study are making their way across the desks of renewable energy CEOs, marketers and investors across the industry. These executives are likely benefit from looking at this data, as it focuses on consumer perceptions, something that has been neglected in the field for far too long.
The syndicated study, named MRE Share, examines consumer opinion on all types of energy, from hydroelectric to wind to coal, although it focuses on solar more so than other power sources. It was looking at the solar industry that we first noticed no one had ever collected comparative driver data, explains Bob Norman, vice president of Delta Market Research Inc, the firm behind the study. Im not sure why the consumer has been overlooked by the solar industry, but it will be difficult to move renewable innovations forward if these perceptions continue to be ignored.
Researchers and marketers in the renewable energy field will be able to learn about potential market share, comparisons among different energy types, and target drivers. The study draws from a sample of 2000 respondents and is representative of the nation. Were taking great care to make sure we have reliable data, says Deltas president, Linda Celec. Were an independent research firm thats been doing this since the seventies, and we want to make sure our clients can trust the data we give them. Its got to be unbiased.
The tentative launch date is set for September first. Delta is offering those who pre-subscribe a level of control, including the addition of an ad hoc question, monitoring options, and a heavily discounted price.
