Delta residential solar inverters added to New York standard interconnection requirements list

The New York Standard Interconnection Requirements (SIR) address technical guidelines for interconnection and application procedures of distributed generators (DG) in New York State.

The Department of Public Service (DPS) has adopted a simplified six-step process to cover initial inquiry to final utility acceptance for interconnection of all solar systems up to 25 kilowatts, and an 11-step process for solar systems up to two megawatts.

In order to be considered “certified”, equipment on the New York SIR list must meet certain minimum protective function requirements and be certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory as UL-1741 compliant. All of the SOLIVIA NA string inverters with output power from 2.5 kW to 5.0 kW meet these criteria and have been certified as of April 2012.

As a result of the New York SIR certification, all of the SOLIVIA NA inverters now qualify for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) funding programs. Delta is seeking to work with installers and developers in New York State that are awarded NYSERDA funds to further expand solar energy installations in this region.
