EnerGaïa, the unavoidable gathering for energy transition players
Throughout its 19-year history, Forum EnerGaïa has been the annual gathering of all the players in the renewable energy ecosystem. The Forum offers manufacturers, businesses, decision-makers and local authorities the opportunity to find solutions to their practical problems: from production to concrete applications in all sectors of the transition. In 2024, attendance at the Forum jumped by 32%, establishing it more than ever as the go-to business hub for everyone in the value chain.

A reshaped round table programme
In 2025, the Forum is placing emphasis on collective intelligence though a redesigned talks programme featuring a guiding theme, “Building buy-in to accelerate the transition”: by promoting dialogue between sectors, public officials and citizens, the Forum seeks to contribute to building collective and community-wide buy-in, which is an essential condition for the acceleration of the energy transition.
The 2025 programme curates a range of views on the big
issues of the day in renewable energy through the format of round tables to encourage debate, interaction and experience sharing. It will reflect every aspect of renewable energies from both local and international perspectives: wind, solar, hydrogen, biogas, training, community action, recycling, repowering, etc.
Among the most prominent round tables, the Opening plenary will kick off the programme on Wednesday 10 December at 10.30 am with the theme “Territories and renewable energy: is value sharing the key to ownership?”
It will be followed by other events including round tables entitled:
- “Hybridization of wind and solar energy: the way forward?” at 2.00 pm
- “Decarbonizing industry: from roadmaps to operational levers” at 3.30 pm.
The second day of the Forum on Thursday 11 December will begin with a special offshore wind power morning comprising two round tables:
- “Industrialising floating wind power: industrial sovereignty or increased dependency? at 9.30 am
- “Offshore wind power: production in Europe, a strategic challenge” at 10.30 am.
The day will feature nearly a dozen more themes, among which:
- “National action plan on solar thermal energy: how to scale it up” at 9.30 am
- “Self-consumption: moderation and performance, a winning combination” at 11.00 am
- “Geothermal energy and heat pumps, a key solution for public and commercial buildings” at 2.00 pm
- “Renewable electricity contracts: local authorities take the plunge” at 3.30 pm
Fuel poverty: a national challenge of extreme urgency
Today, 1 in 5 people in France* suffer from fuel poverty. This in turn has significant consequences: while the residential sector is the second largest energy user in France, a 2024 report from the administration’s Cour des Comptes recalls that fuel poverty is a hindrance to the transition to net zero.
Following a scorching 2025 summer – the third hottest on record in France – combating fuel poverty is more than ever a major social, environmental and public health emergency. In this perspective, the French government recently launched the “Adapt Bâti Confort” programme to support the experimentation of innovative solutions to cool, adapt and refurbish buildings in the most vulnerable communities.

Grand Challenge Solidaire: mobilising the sector to join the battle
As part of its commitment to combating fuel poverty, Forum EnerGaïa will be hosting the Grand Challenge Solidaire charity initiative for a second consecutive year. The donations collected through this campaign will help directly finance refurbishment work and the replacement of energy inefficient appliances in the neediest households. In 2024, more than €82,300 were raised. The 2025 edition has set its sights even higher: to raise more funds by mobilising all the industry’s stakeholders.
This year, the fundraising campaign will be open from 11 September to 11 December and will help finance the Énergie Solidaire Occitanie programme, launched in 2023 with the support of the Regional Authority to improve the living conditions, health and fuel expenditure of households in difficulty.
About Forum EnerGaïa
Organised by SPL Occitanie Events, the holder of ISO 20121 certification from AFNOR, and initiated by Occitanie Regional Authority, Forum EnerGaïa espouses a proactive eco- responsibility policy. It has been accompanying renewable energy professionals for 19 years by bringing together all industry stakeholders: businesses, local government, decision makers, manufacturers, researchers and innovators.
In 2025, Forum EnerGaïa will focus on the notion of renewable energy project acceptability in communities: “Building buy-in to accelerate the transition”.
