Enertis Solar has been awarded a contract to perform the quality control testing of panels at eight solar PV plants owned by Gestamp Solar in Italy. Enertis Solar, a Spanish company specializing in consultancy, technical services and engineering in the solar PV industry, will perform testing services directly on site utilizing their PV Mobile Lab, the first solar mobile testing laboratory in the world.

At the beginning of 2013, Enertis Solar unveiled the PV-Mobile Lab which allows individual solar modules to be tested onsite at any location. The onsite testing considerably minimizes down-time of plants where normally modules are selected, removed and shipped for testing. Furthermore, testing samples of modules when they are delivered to the construction site and prior to their installation can greatly reduce the risk of damage associated with PV module testing. Gestamp Solar has awarded Enertis Solar the quality control testing of 725 panels installed in eight solar PV plants in Italy, located in Lecce, Foggia, Siracusa and Palermo.

At these projects, Enertis Solar will execute the following tests with the PV Mobile Lab: Visual Inspection, Peak Power Measurement (Flash Test), Isolation Tests, Electroluminescence Test and Inspection as well as a Thermal Imaging Test, which together will allow Gestamp Solar’s clients to make the most out of their investments by identifying any possible performance issues with their PV plants’ most essential components.
