In the framework of the partnership signed in January 2022, European Energy announces that it has signed an agreement with Iren for the sale of the special purpose vehicles holding authorizations and rights for the development of photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 39 MW in the region of Lazio (Viterbo).

Under the terms of the agreement – which provides for the acquisition of 51% of the vehicle companies by Iren through a capital increase carried out through the company Iren Green Generation – European Energy will in any case remain a 49% shareholder of the vehicle companies until the plants will be in operation thanks to further investments and taking care of their development, commissioning and connection to the grid.

Also for these projects, European Energy will leverage project excellence, knowhow, and the use of innovative technologies, collaborating as usual with professionals, project studies, and companies in the territory. All this will lead, after the authorizations already obtained, to the construction of the plants, which are expected to come into operation in early spring 2023, which, when fully operational, will produce clean energy equal to the average consumption of 10,000 households.

Alessandro Migliorini, country manager for Italy at European Energy said: “The agreement is further confirmation of the recognition of the quality of the project, design and execution of our plants. We continue [to] power Italy with green energy and we are pleased to add a new chapter to the history of our collaboration with a leading operator such as Iren.”

Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy said: “Italy remains a keystone country for European Energy's global development and we will continue to invest by bringing clean energy, expertise and jobs to the Italian territory, speeding its path towards the green deal.”
