Exosun, a leading provider of solar tracking technologies and associated plant engineering services, today announced the commissioning of the Vallérargues solar plant, a 4.7 MW installation in south west France.

This is the first tracker-equipped project to reach the commissioning phase from France's first call for tenders in 2012, and also marks Exosun's first collaboration with Urbasolar.

Installed over 19.7 acres, the Vallérargues plant is equipped with 43 of Exosun's Exotrack HZ horizontal single-axis trackers, which orient the photovoltaic panels toward the sun to increase electricity production up to 25 percent compared to a fixed-tilt installation.

The project was completed quickly and efficiently with installation tools and training provided by Exosun.

In addition to providing financing and construction services, Urbasolar will manage operation and maintenance of the plant for 30 years.

The Vallérargues plant will generate approximately 11,890 MWh annually.

"Installed over a typically difficult, hilly land area, this project demonstrates to our new client the robustness and adaptability of our flagship product, the Exotrack HZ. This project also marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with Urbasolar," said Frédéric Conchy, President of Exosun.

"We are also very pleased with this partnership, especially on such an innovative project, which reflects once again the French know-how in the photovoltaic field."

"Exosun has met all our requirements and, thanks to the combined know-how of our teams, enabled us to deliver this high quality project on time," said Arnaud Mine, president of Urbasolar.
