Exosun, a leading provider of solar tracking technologies and plant engineering services, today announced its partnership with French developer and energy producer, La Compagnie du Vent, GDF SUEZ Group, to build the largest tracker-equipped solar plant in France.

Located in Landes, in the southwest region of France, the 12 MW Langelé solar plant will be equipped with 72 Exotrack® HZ trackers, Exosun’s flagship product. “Today, the utility-scale market is looking for solar trackers capable of delivering strong performance, yet featuring a simple, low-maintenance design. We’ve developed the Exotrack HZ solar tracker to efficiently address these needs,” said Frédéric Conchy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Exosun.

This project, awarded by La Compagnie du Vent, GDF SUEZ Group, during France’s first call for tenders in 2012, is the first of this round to reach the construction phase. Exosun was awarded more than 120 MW of additional contracts during the call for tenders, and expects to begin construction on the remaining awarded contracts in the next quarter. "We are delighted to start the construction of our 4th solar plant awarded during France's first call for tenders in 2012. Our first partnership with Exosun has been very satisfying. We therefore reaffirmed our confidence by reselecting Exosun for our projects submitted to the French government under the second call for tenders in September 2013 " comments Mr. Conil, President of La Compagnie du Vent, GDF SUEZ Group.

As the developer, La Compagnie du Vent, GDF SUEZ Group is responsible for project management and coordination of plant construction. Exosun's will manage tracker delivery, on-site assembly and installation. This collaboration follows a successful partnership for the construction of the Porette de Nérone solar plant.

Built by Exosun, this 3.8 MW plant was the first solar tracking plant in France to benefit from a dual ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification for Exosun’s construction process. “After the construction and commissioning of the Porette de Nérone plant in 2012, we are very pleased to renew our partnership with La Compagnie du Vent on this large-scale project,” added Conchy. “The confidence granted to Exosun for this new order, the biggest in Exosun's history, reflects the quality of our products, as well as our expertise, and reinforces our position as a market leader."

The Langelé solar plant will be installed over 69.2 acres and is expected to achieve grid connection by mid-2014. This plant will generate approximately 16.2 MWh/year, covering the electricity needs of 5,060 homes.
