Raritan Center Business Park is New Jerseys premier business address with over 2,350 acres of land and 15 million square feet of space for offices, laboratories, data centers, warehouses and distribution centers.
The system will be housed on the roof of the Buckhead Beef building, a refrigerated distribution center for the national supplier of meat and seafood products, located at 220 Raritan Center Parkway.
Federal Business Centers has maintained its position as a leader in the New Jersey commercial real estate industry for over 60 years by monitoring and adapting to market trends, said Jamie Hahn, managing director of Manasquan, N.J.-based Solis Partners. They understand the environmental and economic benefits of going solar, including reduced operating expenses for their customers.
The system will consist of 705 solar panels and will produce approximately 158,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first year of operation. This equates to the reduction of more than 216,900 pounds of CO2 emissions, which is the equivalent of offsetting the power demand of 13 residential homes or removing 22 cars from the road every year.
In addition to designing and installing the rooftop solar system, Solis Partners is installing a reflective rooftop coating that will make for a more energy efficient building envelope. The installation is scheduled for completion in September 2011.
