Under the motto “Get rid of the grid!” Messe Augsburg will organize the Off-grid Experts Workshop (OEW) for the first time – an event for self-sufficient power supply through solar, wind and hydropower plants, with Phaesun GmbH as Messe Augsburg’s specialist partner. The event – for global installers, dealers, planners, users and organisations – will take place from September 19-21 September at Messe Augsburg. The previous location, Memmingen, had become too small for the combination of lectures, interactive workshops, exhibition and networking events.
Meeting point for insiders and interested parties from the entire off-grid world
Thirty exhibitors have already registered. “For many years, the workshop has provided Steca with the perfect environment to meet insiders and interested parties from the entire off-grid world,” said Werner Gut, head of the solar and energy division at Steca Elektronik GmbH. “No less important to us is the feedback from the market. We are looking forward to seeing you again.”
Bop Hopman, sales manager for Germany at Victron Energy, said: “The workshop bundles the off-grid network in a very professional way and is the best opportunity for us to inform [potential] customers from the theoretical side up to hands-on training, about our solutions for the international off-grid market.”
Interactive, innovative and entertaining
In addition to around 30 presentations by international experts on the topics of PV, small scale wind, mini and micro grids and hybrid and alternative systems, open presentation formats such as the Speakers’ Corner and the Running Discussion will take place as part of the OEW Table Talks.
The program will be in German and English with simultaneous translation. Among the highlights will be Tech-Day, on September 19, with product training sessions for software companies, inverter, fuel cell and storage manufacturers. Hands-on assembling stations and off-grid sales will ensure maximum practical relevance. Evening and networking events, as well as speed dating and a visit to the Munich Oktoberfest will round off the program.
Serge Remy, head of sales at Studer Innotec, said: “If you are active in off-grid electrification, this is the best workshop you can attend. Since its introduction in 2011, the workshop has provided us with new, valuable insights every time.”
The OEW event is also supported by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) as an official partner. ARE’s ambition is that by 2030 everyone in the world, especially rural populations in low and middle income countries, should have access to affordable, secure and clean energy.
