Fronius presents the results of its pioneering work in the field of smart grids

On its 112 m² stand, Fronius will once again be underlining its position as quality leader with a range of innovative technologies and sophisticated solutions. A prototype of the single-phase Fronius Galvo inverter and the free Fronius Solar.TV online service put the finishing touches to the extensive product presentation.

Smart Grid Corner opens new perspectives

The Smart Grid Corner on the Fronius stand opens new perspectives for the American PV market. Among the features on show will be Active Power Control and Reactive Power Control. The former provides a controlled reduction of effective power in order to retain system stability in critical grid situations. With targeted reactive power feeding, the second feature contributes significantly to supporting the grids and facilitating the feeding in of more PV power.

"Fronius started looking into smart grids and the technologies required some time ago. We are now putting our knowledge to good use by jointly defining and developing the smart grids of the future with utilities and communication companies", explains Thomas Enzendorfer, the new sales director of Fronius USA.

Fronius Galvo – flexible in every way

Fronius will be exhibiting a prototype of the Fronius Galvo at Solar Power 2012. This is a single-phase, electrically isolated inverter that ensures the highest levels of safety. The device is designed for use in private households and small PV systems aimed at private consumption. Its wide MPP voltage range allows for a simple system layout, and the HF (high frequency) transformer makes it compatible with all module technologies. It is also designed to be open for third party system monitoring.

An innovative hinged concept makes installing the device child's play. The integrated energy management function allows for optimum private consumption. The device can be used all over the world. Production is planned to start in the middle of 2013.

Individual presentation of system data using Fronius Solar.TV

With Fronius Solar.TV, quality leader Fronius offers a free on-line service for the professional presentation of PV system data. Meaningful data, such as yield, CO2 savings or earnings through energy fed into the grid, can be displayed in a promotionally effective way on standard displays in public spaces.

Information such as system components, date of commissioning and performance can be shown individually on standard displays via an Internet connection. Fronius Solar.TV accesses data on Fronius Solar.web, the free on-line service for remote system monitoring. This free on-line service has been available at www.solartv.solarweb.com since early July 2012.
