Peter Altmaier, the German Minister for the Environment will open the 13th Solarpraxis Forum in Berlin on 22 November, 2012. This two-day conference brings representatives from politics, finance and the media together around the same table as the solar industry. It provides an overview of recent developments in photovoltaics and solar thermal energy.
In 2011, the Forum Solarpraxis was, with around 850 international participants, one of the largest conferences for the solar industry in Germany. The conference is set, on the one hand, against a background of production being migrated to low wage countries, falling module prices worldwide and cuts in solar subsidies, and the growing global importance of solar energy and the German energy transition on the other.
Experts will assess how the international solar markets are likely to develop in this environment and the opportunities for solar energy in a world without feed-in tariffs. Those issues that are crucial to the industry such as legislation and regulatory frameworks, new markets and market trends, financing and grid integration will be discussed. Aside from Germany, budding European and non-European markets will be examined in some detail. Discussion forums with representatives from the German parliamentary parties, CEOs of leading solar companies, representatives from market research and analysis organizations and journalists from both the trade and daily press will round off the program.
The Solarpraxis Forum has established itself as a first class meeting place offering excellent opportunities for professional discussion. The conference is aimed at manufacturers, investors, insurance companies, power utilities and project developers.
