The German-Scandinavian manufacturer Innotech Solar (ITS) is enhancing its twelve-year product warranty for photovoltaic modules with a linear performance warranty, taking effect immediately.
This allows the company to offer its customers better warranty conditions than companies providing the standard tiered warranty. The linear performance warranty applies to all ITS modules bought as of 1st March 2013. Innotech Solar guarantees a minimum 97% of the module nominal power output for the first year.
Over a period of 25 years, the company guarantees that module performance will not fall by more than 0.7 percent per year. Most manufacturers only guarantee that their modules will provide 90 percent of their nominal power output for the first ten years and 80 percent from the eleventh year.
"Extensive quality tests ensure that only perfect products leave our warehouse. Our modules constantly achieve high yields in the field," explained Dr Thomas Hillig, Vice President Module Sales & Marketing at ITS. "Our linear performance warranty is particularly attractive for our customers," said Hillig.
The high quality of ITS modules is ensured by rigorous cell inspections, for example by carrying out thermal imaging before and after processing. Tests by independent experts such as Photovoltaik-Institut Berlin or PV Lab demonstrate the high efficiency of Innotech Solar modules. They have been awarded certificates for complying with industry standards IEC 61215 and IEC 61730, as well as the British MCS standard.
In addition, they have been successfully tested for resistance to ammonia and salt spray. Innotech Solars quality, environmental and occupational safety management has also been certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
