Jetion Solar (China) Co Ltd, one of the world’s leading PV manufacturers, recently announced it is working with Helio Power to supply 50 MW of solar modules to the large-scale Thuan Minh 2 Solar Farm in Binh Thuan province, Vietnam.

CNBM New Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jetion Solar, will serve as EPC contractor. In August, CNBM New Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Helio Power Vietnam to develop and construct 500 MW of solar power plant capacity, with the Binh Thuan project part of the first phase of the partnership.

The Thuan Minh 2 Solar Farm will utilize more than 150,000 of Jetion Solar’s high-efficiency, 72-cell, polycrystalline modules, and is expected to supply more than 78,000 MWh of clean energy to the grid annually. It is expected the project will be connected to the grid before the end of June, when the FIT will decline in Vietnam.

“Jetion Solar has worked tirelessly to build and maintain its reputation as a reliable module supplier in the utility market,” said Honglei Zhao, senior VP of Jetion Solar. “It is another demonstration of our world-class capabilities and service to our international customers. We look forward to leveraging our expertise and working with more solar project industry leaders in the future.”

Helio Power general manager Phan Thanh Dat said: “We are proud to build a project that will showcase the huge potential of utility-scale solar in Vietnam. The region’s booming population, strong economic growth and abundant sunlight represent an exciting opportunity for solar. Thank you to our respected partner Jetion Solar for [its] valuable roles in Thuan Minh 2 Solar Farm’s success. We look forward to cooperating with Jetion Solar’s professional and dedicated team again on future projects.”
