Xie Xiaofan, Vice President of Jolywood Solar, and Liu Zhipeng, Sales Director of Middle East Africa, attended the signing ceremony.

The first China-Arab Summit has great significance to promote cooperation between the two countries. Saudi Arabia is one of the first countries to participate in the “Belt and Road”. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, promoted the “Belt and Road” initiative, encourage the plans under Saudi Vision 2030, while promoting Saudi Arabia's influence in the political, economic and energy fields in the world. This summit also provides opportunity to promote the cooperation between ACWA Power and Jolywood.

Jolywood has supplied nearly 1GW of N-type modules to PV projects in the Middle East, with its market share of N-type products in the Middle East at 10% making it is the largest N-type module supplier in the region. ACWA Power’s solar portfolio in the Middle East includes Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai and Ibri II in Oman . Jolywood has provided 320MW and 490MW N-type TOPCon bifacial PV modules to both theseprojects. Ibri Phase II Project has become the world's first N-type bifacial project with more than 500MW, and is also the world's largest TOPCon photovoltaic ground power station to date.

The climate of Middle East and North Africa region is special, and most of the projects are located in deserts, which brings great challenges to the performance of PV modules. Jolywood N-type bifacial PV module has lower temperature coefficient. When the maximum temperature of the module reaches above 70℃, it can work as normal, which can reduce loss and risk caused by high temperature. In extreme environment, Jolywood module also can perform well, which can solve the electricity problem for the local area.

Lin Jianwei, Chairman of Jolywood, said: “The Middle East and North Africa region has relied on conventional energy heavily. The development of clean energy can effectively reduce the region's dependence on oil and gas, promote energy transformation and economic development. It will also create jobs for the local community. Currently, Jolywood is putting efforts on the construction of N-type TOPCon high-efficiency cell project with an annual production capacity of 16GW in Shanxi China, to meet the demand of the Middle East market. In the future, ACWA Power and Jolywood will explore new cooperation opportunities and contribute “China Power” to the green energy in Middle East Africa.

To date, there are more than 130 countries and regions have committed to the net zero carbon target, which will be a large-scale global cooperative action. This also provides investment opportunities in renewable energy and green infrastructure. As a global leading N-type solar energy technology company, Jolywood Solar, with many technological advantages in the field of PV, is facing the opportunities and challenges of new economic development under the “double carbon” target, and integrating PV energy into life.
