juwi Management certified for operational management of renewable energy plants

Technical services and business management had already been certified before; now, sales and distribution as well as operational management have also been given the very much sought-after ISO-certificate. Both management directors, Thomas Albrecht and Rolf Heggen, accepted the award by Germanischer Lloyd last Friday.

It all began when the Rotor System Technology (RST) sector was authorized for repairing rotor blades in September 2010. ‘In order to be able to compete on the market, we decided to certify the then newly installed branch of juwi Management,’ explains Rolf Heggen. ‘Since the certificate according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 is the prerequisite for setting up a repair shop, we initially expanded the certification to the complete sector Technical Services, to which the RST belongs,’ adds Thomas Albrecht.

In December 2010, the first milestone was reached: Technical Services was the first juwi-department to receive the intended award. In order to document and to use juwi Management’s high quality as competitive edge, the directors decided to completely certify juwi Management GmbH according to ISO 9001. In July 2011, business management received the ISO certificate.

In February 2012, operational management and sales and distribution followed; thus, juwi Management as a whole became certified. ‘For our company, this is an enormous competitive edge: juwi is quality-conscious and now we have it in writing,’ Thomas Albrecht and Rolf Heggen say. ‘With the certification, a lot of processes have been optimized; thus we could increase our efficiency enormously.

With a constant number of employees, we are able to successfully maintain an increasing number of operating companies as well as wind- and solar parks with an even better quality,’ both state, not without pride. ‘Yet a certification is not a status which – once achieved – allows us to relax. Instead, it rather forms part of a constant optimization process. We will therefore continue to work on our processes to become even more effective in future,’ the managing directors affirm.
