NEOEN has selected QOS Energy to provide the energy monitoring web platform for the largest solar PV plant in Europe located in Cestas near Bordeaux (France).
Made up of almost 1000.000 solar panels, the CESTAS plant has a capacity of 300 MWp and will be commissioned in October 2015. The largest solar plant in Europe will produce annually 350,000 gigawatt-hours, the equivalent to the residential electricity consumption of Bordeaux (235.000 inhabitants).
QOS Energy provides a monitoring web platform called Qantum. This energy management web platform includes a wide range of functionalities such as performance analysis, maintenance management (CMMS), workflow management, automated alerts or custom reports.
NEOEN is an independent power producer who develops, finances, builds and operates renewable energy power plants (solar, wind, biomass). The CESTAS project is strategic for the IPP since it accounts for over half the IPPs capacity.
Paul-François Croisille, COO of NEOEN: Our objective is to keep our plants producing at the highest levels of efficiency because that is what will make the best returns on our investment. Renewable energies, especially wind and solar, are great because 1% additional production is really 1% that goes down into the bottom line. This extra efficiency has a tremendous financial impact for us.
The Qantum web platform is up to the challenge allowing to build bespoke performance indicators (technical, financial, maintenance ). Qantums analysis capabilities enable to keep optimal operation performance by identifying any performance gaps or progressive deterioration.
The fully integrated CMMS module (Maintenance Management) offers various possibilities to manage maintenance operations. Maintenance contractors have access to the CMMS web platform permitting them to allocate maintenance tickets to individual field technicians. On their end, technicians get alerted, access the tickets details and can even do some reporting on-site using their mobile CMMS portal for which the intervention scope is fully customisable.
Franck of Le Breton, CEO of QOS Energy: "We have been working alongside NEOEN for 2 years and are delighted they renewed their trust in QOS Energy for this strategic project. The Qantum platform is designed for large projects; it is capable of supervising a very large volume of data and detect malfunctions with excellent responsiveness. "
Carole Descroix, Operations Manager of NEOEN: QOS Energy offers a real advantage given that their energy monitoring solution is multi-energy (solar, wind, biomass ) and compatible with any type of equipment. It is fully configurable allowing us to align it to our business needs.
